Summary

Stubborn wolf cub Wilf doesn't want help from anyone。 Not from his friends or his family。 Whatever it is, he can do it all by himself。 But when Wilf finds himself lost and alone in the chill of the Arctic night, he discovers something important: sometimes we all need the helping hand of a friend。

This positive rhyming story is perfect for stubbornly independent little cubs everywhere!

Cute story, great rhyming。 Goes on a touch too long for a very predictable ending。

Luka loves the images within this story。 He anticipates and worries about the wolf which is really cute。

Stefanie Kettler

I like it but neither of the kids have really taken to it

A stunning read! That illustration on the first page grabbed me, it was so beautiful! I ordered this book for my son Cedar during his Scholastic book fair。 Cedar loves wolves so I thought he would enjoy it。 We both appreciated the beautiful illustrations on every page。 It is so engaging and the art is so expressive, it feels like watching a movie! The highlight is the illustrations featuring Aurora Borealis。 Another bonus is the story features other animals like a narwhal, seal and arctic fox! Be aware the story is told in rhyme, which is honestly not my favorite kind。 Sometimes I ordered this book for my son Cedar during his Scholastic book fair。 Cedar loves wolves so I thought he would enjoy it。 We both appreciated the beautiful illustrations on every page。 It is so engaging and the art is so expressive, it feels like watching a movie! This book made me cry。 "We are all just a handful of friendships from home"。 The illustration and coloring of this book is magical, nuanced and beautiful lighting on snow。 The characters are PIXAR-y sweet and very expressive and relatable。 The book chugs along at a lovely pace with rhyming, an easy to understand narrative as Wilf is lead home by a host of woodland and tundra animals, and it's just so heartwarming and SWEET。 I highly recommend。 This book made me cry。 "We are all just a handful of friendships from home"。 The illustration and coloring of this book is magical, nuanced and beautiful lighting on snow。 The characters are PIXAR-y sweet and very expressive and relatable。 The book chugs along at a lovely pace with rhyming, an easy to understand narrative as Wilf is lead home by a host of woodland and tundra animals, and it's just so heartwarming and SWEET。 I highly recommend。 。。。more

It's cute and I love Rachel Bright but i think this one isn't as good as her other works。 Some complicated words for little kids, and unfortunately the pictures, while really beautiful, are a bit monotoned。 Hard to do something very colorful in a snow setting, i know。 It's good, just not the best of the possibilities。 Would highly recommend The Lion Inside instead。 It's cute and I love Rachel Bright but i think this one isn't as good as her other works。 Some complicated words for little kids, and unfortunately the pictures, while really beautiful, are a bit monotoned。 Hard to do something very colorful in a snow setting, i know。 It's good, just not the best of the possibilities。 Would highly recommend The Lion Inside instead。 。。。more

A lot happens in this book! Some peril in the middle but all turns out well, of course。 Very beautifully illustrated。

Diversity notes: animal charactersI loved this book, the illustrations are beautiful and the animals are so snuggly looking。 I love that the narwhal is referred to as a sea unicorn! Perfect for animal lovers or kids who are ready to do everything themselves and need to be reminded it's ok to ask for help。 Diversity notes: animal charactersI loved this book, the illustrations are beautiful and the animals are so snuggly looking。 I love that the narwhal is referred to as a sea unicorn! I enjoyed how they wolf made new friendships and how the importance of friendship can change someones view on life。 I thought this was an important message to convey。

Beautifully-illustrated story of a wolf that gets lost in the snow and must find his way back to his pack。 Would make for a fun read-aloud to PreK kids on the themes of winter, wolves, or perseverance。

Stacie

Gorgeous illustrations, delightful rhymes, Northern Lights, loving wolves, and good neighbors。 What’s not to like?? 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
